Privacy Policy

TWDownload ("we", "us") is designed to work with as little of your data as possible. This page explains exactly what is processed when you use our X (Twitter) downloader and what we keep.

What we do not collect

• No accounts. There is no registration, login or profile.
• No stored media. Videos, GIFs and photos stream from X's servers through ours directly to your device and are never written to disk or retained.
• No download history. We don't build a record of which posts you download.

What we process, briefly

To fulfil a download request, our server temporarily processes the post link you paste and relays the media stream. This happens in memory and ends when your download completes.

Technical logs

Like almost every website, we keep short technical server logs to keep the service reliable and to prevent abuse. A log entry may include your IP address, the time of the request, the link you submitted, and an error description. We write these logs primarily when something goes wrong — an invalid link, a failed extraction, a blocked download — so we can diagnose problems. Logs rotate automatically and old entries are overwritten; they are not shared with third parties and are never used for advertising.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web-analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate (for example, which pages are popular and roughly where traffic comes from). Google Analytics sets its own cookies and may process data such as your IP address and browser information; this is handled by Google under its own Privacy Policy. We use it only for aggregate statistics — not to identify you personally and not to build a record of the posts you download. You can opt out across all sites with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.

Cookies and local storage

TWDownload itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. Google Analytics (see above) and the third-party content delivery networks we load assets from (listed below) may set their own cookies, subject to their policies.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics — aggregate traffic statistics, as described above.
• X / Twitter servers (x.com, twimg.com) — media previews and files load from Twitter's content servers, which see the standard requests any embedded tweet would generate.
• CDNs — we load Bootstrap, icons and fonts from jsDelivr and Google Fonts for fast page loads.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Given how little we keep — rotating technical logs at most — there is usually nothing to retrieve, but you can always contact the site operator and we'll help.

Children

TWDownload is not directed at children under 13 and we knowingly collect no data about them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date above.
